Valentín Carranza Montenegro and his family are dedicated to producing high-quality coffee. His farm is situated on some of the highest land in the town of Gracias a Dios, at a lofty 1,750 meters above sea level.
Valentín named his plot Finca El Corazón after the Spanish word for heart. He feels that farms are the engines that drive the work for a better future. The cherry on top is that, when viewed from above, his land is shaped like a heart.
Cherry is selectively handpicked and then pulped in Valentin’s ecopulper. Coffee is fermented for 36 hours and then washed in clean water. Parchment sundries on drying beds for 15 to 20 days.
